Friendship and enjoyment - how young adult Friends in Oxford sustain community

Young adult Friends in Oxford organised an enjoyable day of sharing spiritual journeys, lunch, dancing and more for their Bioregional Meeting in October. More than 70 people of all ages from the Area Meetings of Chilterns, Mid-Thames, Banbury & Evesham and Oxford & Swindon joined together.

Teaching Peace in Schools

Quakers in Bristol have been working with the BYM Peace Education Team to learn how to train primary school children to mediate playground issues with their peers. Since doing the training earlier this year, Bristol Quakers are now lined up to work with their first primary school in June, and there is quite a buzz about developing more opportunities to teach skills for peace to more Bristol children.

5 Take-aways from George Fox 400

In 2024, Quakers around the world marked the 400th anniversary of the birth of George Fox, the best known of early Quakers. Celebrating the life of one man was a challenge to the Quaker testimony to equality, so focus was on the significant contribution he and others made to the beginnings of the Quaker movement. It was a chance to look back at how the religion started and celebrate the continued work of Quakers around the world for peace, truth and justice.
