Seventy five years ago today, (6 August) during World War II, atomic bombs destroyed Japanese cities. First, Hiroshima, followed three days later by Nagasaki. Countless thousands perished. The only remains of many were their shadows, burned into stone.
This is a time for remembrance, reflection and action.
