This page will briefly orientate you to the themes of Yearly Meeting sessions.

In recent sessions, Yearly Meeting has considered:

May 2026:

Key questions:

  • What unites us as a Spirit-led community? How do we foster acceptance and belonging?
  • How do we let the spirit guide us to peaceful resolution of the conflicts within our Quaker meetings and our communities?
  • Updates to our constitution to reflect the laying down of Meeting for Sufferings and the fact that Yearly Meeting sessions will be taking place up to four times annually from May 2026 onwards.

In future sessions, we expect to consider:

July 2026

Quaker membership, and in particular how and whether we can offer this to Friends whose primary affiliation is not with a local meeting.

From July 2026

Britain Yearly Meeting's commitment to considering meaningful reparations for Quaker involvement in the transatlantic chattel enslavement system, colonialism and economic exploitation. This matter was first considered at Yearly Meeting in 2022 and has been taken forward by the BYM Reparations Working Group. Find more about our Reparations work.

From November 2026

We expect to begin consideration of the new draft of our Book of Discipline, provisionally entitled “Our Quaker Way". Friends will have many opportunities to engage with and respond to the draft between November 2026 and July 2027, both at Yearly Meeting events and in local communities.
