Love and giving – the will to nurture life
Love and fundraising don't seem like natural bedfellows to most of us. But on the front of our latest contributions leaflet, we quote from Quaker faith & practice 22.42 “Love is the will to nurture life and growth in oneself and in another". Without the love that prompts individuals, meetings and funders to make gifts of money and time, national Quaker work simply could not function, particularly in what has been another challenging year.

Military stand-off over Ukraine: 5 things you can do
On 25 January Quakers in Britain issued a statement urging all sides to "engage in urgent de-escalation and commit to resolving the stand-off over Ukraine peacefully". Since then, we have witnessed the continuation of the military build-up. Despite Russia's recent disputed announcement of a partial withdrawal of some troops, there is continued international concern that diplomacy may fail and that a terrible new war may break out.

Building a lasting peace: 25 years of the Good Friday Agreement
Most people over the age of about 35 with a connection to Northern Ireland will remember the Good Friday Agreement being signed. I do. I grew up just outside Belfast and at Easter 1998 when the Agreement was formalised I was 12 years old, on a canal boat somewhere in England. I wasn't blessed with keen political insight, but even I dimly grasped that what I was hearing on the radio was important.

And Still We Rise: building collective action in the face of multiple crises
'And Still We Rise' brought together almost 1000 people and 100 speakers from 25 different countries around the world. It was the latest event in a long tradition of hosting movements for social justice at Friends House. A tradition of movement generosity (i.e. thinking about how those with space and resources can share what they have with movements to build a peaceful and sustainable world) which Quakers in Britain is committed to practising.

A reflection on 25 years of the Scottish Parliament
Quaker engagement with the Scottish Parliament builds on a rich history of Quaker political involvement, from the petitions by Margaret Fell and George Fox in the 1600s, to the fifty years of quiet diplomacy in the Quaker UN Offices, to Quakers in Britain's work influencing Westminster politicians.
