What does Quaker community look like in 2023?
Quakers are a worshipping community. Our simple way of worshipping, of seeking the leadings of the Spirit for us, depends on us coming together in groups. It is a corporate act, a recognition that the body has many members. We can worship individually, of course – and many Quakers have our own personal spiritual practices – but we recognise that seeking God's will for us is best done together.

Why should we protest against DSEI?
In 2019, when I was 15, I attended a protest against the Defence and Security Equipment International arms fair (DSEI) alongside hundreds of peace activists, many of whom were Quakers. We gathered outside the ExCel centre in London to block the entrance, share art, sing, and hold meetings for worship in remembrance of the countless victims of war.

6 actions you can take for Palestine and Israel
We welcomed with deep relief the end to the recent round of bombing in Gaza and firing of rockets into Israel. But while the world's attention may have moved on, the violence and structural oppression of the military occupation of Palestine has not ended and the struggle for equal rights continues.

Now that the UK has a new government, many will be watching to see how Labour's campaign translates into reality. We'll be hoping, of course, that it will result in positive changes for two topics that perhaps were not as prominent in the election campaign as we would have liked: climate justice and peace.

Untangling the web: change through international structures
Having studied social anthropology, I have always been interested in the values we hold (both knowingly and unknowingly) and how these inform the way we live our lives. But the larger political structures that govern and influence our lives have always felt distant to me, something 'other' that I didn't know how to influence or be part of.

6 ways to make Quaker meeting houses more sustainable
There are many ways to take action against the climate crisis. More than 100 Quakers recently took part in a mass lobby of Parliament at Westminster, urging MPs to take action. Others have been involved in school strikes, anti-fracking action and activism with the growing Extinction Rebellion movement. It's also important to remember that the sustainability we might call for in other areas of our lives applies to our Quaker meetings and meeting houses as well. In my role I've come across many ways meetings are trying to make their properties more sustainable – and seen a lot of opportunities yet to be taken, too. Here are six ways to make a difference.

6 things you never knew were invented by Quakers
Throughout history Quakers have been open to practical experimentation as well as spiritual, and have had a hand in a number of inventions of note. Here is a list of my personal favourites.
