November Yearly Meeting

The next session of YM will be held at Friends House and online on 21 November. The Agenda Planning Committee is using feedback from the July session to make some changes to how things work please continue to let us know what is good and bad from your perspective, whether you are at the venue or joining online.

The agenda will be finalised at the end of September and papers should be available at the end of October. As of now, we expect that the following items will be on the agenda:

• Suggested changes to the wording of the Quaker marriage declaration
• Report from the reparation conference on 26 October
• Trustees' annual report and financial statements
• Launch of the new draft book of discipline Our Quaker Way

If you haven't been to Yearly Meeting yet in 2026, you can register now to attend the November session: If you attended in May or July there is no need to complete a new registration and you can book directly via the Yearly Meeting planner (Sched) – bookings will open in the first week of September so keep an eye out. You can also use Sched to book to attend the Woodbrooke orientation session and the YM preparation session (exact dates to be confirmed).

Bookings for children and young people are open now and will close on 2 November – read about the programme and book.

If you are coming to London on Friday 20 November you are warmly invited to Westminster Quaker Meeting House. There will be a drop in silence in the main meeting room (5.30-7pm), tea and cake in the library (6.30pm) and other activities from 7.15pm, ending with epilogue.

We can't promise to have a get together on the Friday evening before every one day session but we are looking at ways to enable this – that might include inviting area meetings to 'host' an event at Friends House. If you think your meeting might be able to offer something (show a film, host a discussion, or just hold space for getting to know each other) then please get in touch ym@quaker.org.uk to discuss the possibilities.
