Welcome to the registration page for Yearly Meeting. Please note that the deadlines for registration are as follows, for 0–15's programmes registration closes Sunday 16 June and for Yearly Meeting registration closes on 7 July.
Nominations for Junior Yearly Meeting (15–18s) opened in September, the deadline for nominations and for open place bookings is Sunday 24 March 2024. The deadline for parent/guardian and participants confirming places is Sunday 8 April 2024.
How do I book a place?
- All participants are expected to agree to our Terms & Conditions (PDF) and the Community Agreement (PDF). Updates made this year to Terms & Conditions are detailed in the Appendix.
- For Yearly Meeting, please note that this is a two-part booking process. Once you have registered you will receive an invitation to the Yearly Meeting Planner. From June, this will give you access to the full Yearly Meeting programme, and allow you to book the online activities that are a part of the Yearly Meeting Fringe.
Who can attend?
- Friends from across Britain Yearly Meeting can attend. Members and attenders are welcome and attenders do not have to obtain specific permission to come to Yearly Meeting.
- Friends from outside Britain Yearly Meeting are welcome, please let us know in your Registration form if you are joining from outside Britain. You will be asked if you are an appointed representative of your Yearly Meeting or if you will be attending in a personal capacity.
- Children and young people are very welcome, please view the 0–18s page for full information about the Children & Young Peoples programmes.
Is Yearly Meeting free to attend?
- Yes, there is no charge to attend Yearly Meeting at Friends House or online.
- For those attending Friends House, to ensure that we cater appropriately for hot m–eals you will need to buy a meal ticket in advance of Yearly Meeting. Information on how to do this will be sent to you in advance of Yearly Meeting.
- If you plan to attend Yearly Meeting sessions in person at Friends House, you will need to book your own accommodation and travel arrangements.
- Some of the residential children and young people's events. As a residential event Junior Yearly Meeting costs £350 and Young People @ Yearly Meeting, which is non-residential, incurs a cost of £15 per day. Please see the 0–18s page for information and guidance about these residential events.
- No Friend should be prevented from attending Yearly Meeting because they can't afford it. If you need financial help please speak to Friends in your local or area meeting or your worshipping community. They may be able to help. If they can't, you can ask for financial support from the Yearly Meeting bursary fund.

How can I view the programme?
- From April the programme for the weekend will be available to view online. From June those registered for YM will have access to the full programme through the Yearly Meeting Planner (please see How do I book a place?)
- Once you have registered for the event, you will receive an invitation to the Yearly Meeting Planner. Please be aware that processing can take up to two weeks.
- Whether you plan to attend in person or online you will be able to book your space at the various events and Yearly Meeting Sessions, from June.

- In order to run this event we will add your details to our contacts database, a list of attendees and to third party suppliers we are using to assist with running this event, including Sched.com and Mailchimp. Accommodation
Accommodation is not provided. If you plan to attend Yearly Meeting in person, you will need to arrange your own accommodation. Friends will find below a list of possible accommodation options.

Non self-catering (Central London zones 1 and 2)
Under 10 minutes walk from Friends House
- St Athans Hotel offsite link Described as a no-frills budget hotel, that is clean and comfortable.
- The Indian YMCA offsite link It offers a wide range of options from Dormitory or family rooms through to Deluxe accommodation.
- Kabannas London St Pancras offsite link is opposite the British Library. It offers a wide range of options from Dormitory or family rooms through to twin rooms.
Under 20 minutes walk from Friends House
- Imperial London offsite link is often a BYM choice for committee meetings. Friends using these hotels may wish to sign up for the free 1837 club. This includes 15% off every booking and a best rate guarantee.
Approximately 30 minutes by foot and public transport from Friends House
- Lancaster Hall Hotel offsite link is owned by the German YMCA and offers standard and superior options.
- Kensington Gardens Hostel offsite link is described as good for families, with room sizes from two to four people.
- Premier Inn Archway offers budget hotel accommodation.
Self-catering
Under 30 minutes walk from Friends House
- UCL Summer Residences offsite link provides central London accommodation at affordable prices – many of their rooms are in either a short tube, bus ride or walk from Friends House.
- Please note that UCL do not accept under 12's in the Summer Residences.
- YHA London Central offsite link is the closest and is under 20minutes walk
- YHA London Oxford Street offsite link is under 30 minutess walk or just over 20mins by bus and foot.
- The YHA offers a 5% young person discount for anyone under 26 year olds. Guests aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or older. Under 12s are not permitted in dormitory rooms.
- Children under three can stay for free. When booking you should inform the YHA if there is an infant in your group during the booking process. You can do this by leaving a note in the 'Special requests' section when booking online or tell an adviser if booking over the phone.
Approximately 30 minutes by foot and public transport from Friends House
- Palmers Lodge offsite link is a boutique 24 hour hostel. Rooms range in size from one to 28 people. There is a range of room types from private, to mixed gender and female only. It is a short walk and bus ride, taking about 30 minutes to Friends House.
Quick journey to Central London
- Some Friends who choose to stay in locations that are a short journey from Euston, St Pancras or King Cross. Some places are in zones 3-5, some are outside the M25. Travel times given are a guideline. Friends are encouraged to consider allowing time for walking speed etc.
- Rail strikes or engineering works may affect these routes. Some locations have more than one route to reach your destination. As well as checking engineering works and strikes, do look out for overtime bans which means that a route will run a reduced and revised service.

- Outside the M25 - Lee Valley
- Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite offsite link offers camping based in Parkland and is approximately a 60min journey from Friends House by foot, train and tube (the campsite is a 10 minute walk from Broxbourne station).
- London Lee Valley offsite link offers accommodation based in Parkland and is approximately a 45 minute from Friends House by foot, train and tube (the YHA is a 5 minute walk from Cheshunt station).
- Outside the M25 - Home Counties
- Travelodge Welwyn Garden City offsite link offers budget hotel accommodation and with the quickest route being 43 minute journey – without changes - to Kings Cross Station by train and foot (the hotel is a 2 minute walk from Welwyn Garden City station and Kings Cross to Friends House is a 12 minute walk).
- The alternative route takes 62 minutes – with changes – to Euston by train, tube and foot (the hotel is a 2 minute walk from Welwyn Garden City Station and Euston to Friends House is a 3 minute walk).
- Holiday Inn Express Stevenage offsite link Offers budget hotel accommodation and with the quickest route being 50mins – with changes – to Euston by train, tube and foot (the hotel is a 7min walk from Stevenage station and Euston to Friends House is a 3 minute walk).
