BDRC 11 Mar 2026
The Book of Discipline Revision Committee met for the 25th time. The Book of Discipline Revision Committee (BDRC) is creating a new book to replace Quaker faith & practice.
What is this committee responsible for?
The Book of Discipline Revision Committee (BDRC) is creating a new book to replace Quaker faith & practice.
What did it do at this meeting?
The draft of Our Quaker Way is virtually complete! At our February meeting, the committee agreed final changes, after which it will be prepared for publication. We're planning to launch the draft at the November 2026 session of Britain Yearly Meeting.
The final section of this draft to be completed will be a new version of Advices and queries. We have agreed a working title of 'Living as a Quaker: Advices and queries for Quakers in Britain'.
How can I find out more?
Once the draft is out in November, all Quakers in Britain will be invited to read, reflect, and respond, in order to be ready for the discernment at Yearly Meeting in July 2027. We hope as many people as possible will get involved, and Woodbrooke are preparing resources and sessions to help that happen.
The read, reflect, respond process could run in local meetings, area meetings, children's meetings, link groups, young adult groups, recognised bodies, and other groups, or be something you do on your own – could your Quaker community put time in a diary, events calendar, or forward agenda to consider the draft once it is available?
In the meantime join us for progress updates at YM 2026 Special Interest Meetings on 21 and 23 March, as well as during YM on Sunday 3 May.
