Foundation Course in Nonviolent Communication
25 - 27 October 2024, Branston
Would you love to deepen your personal relationships? Would you like to connect to yourself with empathy? Do you long for greater compassion and love in public discourse? Join others to learn the basics of Nonviolent Communication.
On this 2-day course we will connect with each other to learn and practise the skills of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as developed by Marshall Rosenberg. NVC encourages us to empathise with our own and others' deeper needs, to create spaces of love and compassion. Previous participants have gone on to use NVC in their work e.g. in education or health; in their local meetings; and in their own personal relationships.
At a time when we are needing to have difficult conversations with each other on pressing and complex topics, Nonviolent communication is a powerful tool for seeking to embody our Peace Testimony in how we are with each other, inside and outside of Quaker spaces.
This is an in-person residential course held in a venue that will nurture deep connection with self and others. Participants will have the chance to practise in small groups and plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
Previous participants on Jenny's Nonviolent Communication courses with Woodbrooke have said:
“It has been a very lovely experience. I really appreciated group exercises as it allowed me to contribute and try out things in practice".
The course begins on Friday with the evening meal and ends with lunch on Sunday.
