Applying Our Quaker Testimonies to Economics

29 April 2024, Online

What happens when we look at economics through the lens of our Quaker Testimonies? In this interactive online session Pamela Haines, author of Money and Soul, will offer some perspective and lead reflective activities to explore this question.

A scattering of British bank notes

At a time when the UK is stumbling through a cost-of-living crisis that is impacting most on the poorest in our society, money, justice and equity are important topics for Quakers to engage with.

The economy and our financial choices may often feel like something quite distinct and separate from our faith. But when we ground our relationship with and choices around money firmly in our beliefs and values that all changes. What is the economy for? How much is enough? What needs to be equal? How is well-being best measured? Who should decide?

In only 90 minutes, we will be able to start this reflection process, but probably not completely finish it! Pamela's Quaker Quicks book Money and Soul may help you to take this exploration further.
