Routes to Sustainability

27 July 2019, Ulverston

Talk on Routes to Sustainability by Quaker Jon Lovett, chair of Global Challenges at Leeds University. First of a series of three talks. Free

This talk will explore the three dimensions of sustainability: economic, environmental and social, and how they interact with the definition of the Brundtland report. The three dimensions provide both synergies and tensions. In the talk they will be placed in the context of John Rawl's 'Theory of Justice'. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. This event is part of Swarthmoor Hall's summer art exhibition, Seeking Routes (20th July-8th Sept) on Quaker experience and action building a sustainable Earth, organised in collaboration with Quaker Arts Network.
