Quaker Summer Solstice Eco Gathering
16 - 23 June 2018, Pembroke Dock
A week camp at Green Apple Cross to explore sustainability issues. Come for all or some of the time.
There is a unique opportunity to share nature and our own individual gifts this summer in the beautiful setting of Green Apple within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. We have organised The Friend Summer Solstice Eco Gathering on 16-23 June 2018.
The week promises optional informal workshops to include: Meditation, Yoga, Circle Dance, Tai Chi, orchards and growing, compost toilets, eco-house-building, home education, singing, poetry, creative writing, Human Rights and an array of other skills that you may like to offer.
Camping space is provided in the meadow, so bring your own tent, food and waterproof clothing. A solar/wood heated shower and compost toilet with disability access are available. Facilities include four acres of pasture and orchard to enjoy, a large twin-span poly tunnel for all weather gatherings and some communal meals cooked around the fire during the week.
Green Apple is situated five miles from the coast with beautiful sun rises and sunsets. On a cloudless night you can be moved by the Milky Way. We are near the banks of the River Cleddau with beautiful woodland walks and wild swimming a short walk from Green Apple.
My daughter Laura and I have been developing this site for ten years under the 'One Planet' guidance and we now have a beautiful, sustainable example of 'low-impact' living. We could not have done it without the support of the local community and friends who continue to visit us and enjoy the peace and ambience of this special place. We are sure you will leave with a smile. The cost for the seven day gathering is £150 per adult, children are free.
This week is 'under the care of' the Milford Haven Friends, and we anticipate attending The Meeting House, a purpose- built historic building, on Sunday morning, 17 June.
