Talk The Economics of the Coming Spaceship Earth' by Quaker Jon Lovett, chair of Global Challenges at Leeds University.

In 1966 the Quaker Kenneth E Boulding published his influential essay contrasting 'cowboy' economics with 'spaceman' economics. The essay is now required reading in introductory courses on environmental economics. This talk will discuss the importance of Boulding's essay and provide a background to his life and Quaker faith. Second talk in a series of three. The talk is part of Swarthmoor Hall's summer art exhibition 'Seeking Routes' (20 July-8 Sept), organised in collaboration with Quaker Arts Network
