AUG 8

Early Quakers in their own words: witness

8 August - 10 September 2021, Woodbrooke online

In this course, we will engage at a deep level with several short passages written by early Friends that express something essential about their testimony and witness in the world.

This will help us to understand these Friends better and consider what their words mean for us today. Some of the texts are very well-known, and others less so. The passages will include writings by Sarah Cheevers, Catherine Evans, Mary Fisher, George Fox, James Nayler, Isaac Penington, and Dorothy White.

This is the third course in a series of three.

This course involves a time commitment of approximately two to three hours per week. Each week there will be a range of audio-visual and written materials for you to engage with, and a discussion forum where you can share reflections and ask questions.

The start date is when course materials and forums become available.

Live sessions are on Thursday 26 August, 17:00-18:00 and Thursday 9 September at 17:00-18:00.
