The Quaker Committee for Christian and Interfaith Relations (QCCIR) met to hear from all its appointed representatives and to agree guests to invite to Yearly Meeting and speak at Special Interest Meetings. World Council of Churches associate general secretary, Prof. Dr Isabel Apawo Phiri, has been interrogated and refused entry to Israel. She was on her way to attend consultations with church leaders in Jerusalem, on the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI).

This year marks historic anniversaries in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: 100 years since the Balfour Declaration conveying British support for a national homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine; 50 years since the start of the Israeli military occupation of Palestine; and 10 years since the beginning of the blockade of Gaza.
