Foundation Course in Nonviolent Communication
18 February 2026, Online
Would you love to deepen your personal relationships? Would you like to connect to yourself with empathy? Do you long for greater compassion and love in public discourse? Join others to learn the basics of Nonviolent Communication.
On this 6-week course we will connect with each other to learn and practise the skills of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as developed by Marshall Rosenberg. NVC encourages us to empathise with our own and others' deeper needs, to create spaces of love and compassion. Previous participants have gone on to use NVC in their work in education or health; in their local meetings; and in their own personal relationships.
At a time when we are needing to have difficult conversations with each other on pressing and complex topics, Nonviolent communication is a powerful tool for seeking to embody our Peace Testimony in how we are with each other, inside and outside of Quaker spaces.
The course is held on Zoom with supporting materials available on Moodle. Participants will have the chance to practise in small groups with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Former participants have described the course as “a wonderful experience" and “life-changing".
“Jenny and Özge were knowledgeable and shared real experiences. This allowed me to feel safe, be vulnerable and open so that I could explore the materials more deeply."
The learning in this course is cumulative and the live sessions are key to this, so please only book onto this course if you are ready to attend at least 5 of the 6 sessions. If you attend all of them, you will receive an official certificate and will be able to progress onto further training in NVC with other training centres.
