The Library's collection includes books, journals, manuscripts and visual resources, as well as the archives of the central organisation of Quakers in Britain. It is open to all and free to use. We aim to collect and preserve a record of Quaker activity, increase access to information about the Society of Friends, and encourage study in Quaker and related activities.
Temporary closures
From the week beginning 10 November 2025, the library and archive areas will be undergoing essential maintenance work. This means we will not have access to our collections, and our reading room will be closed for research appointments. We anticipate reopening in January at the earliest, but the exact date has not been confirmed. We will do everything we can to keep our library users informed of developments. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience.
