In Fox's Footsteps: 1652 Quaker Pilgrimage
16 - 20 September 2019, Ulverston
Pilgrims visit most of the early Quaker sites, as part of a worshipping group. A small coach is used to travel to the different sites.
A guided, residential event for anyone who wants to learn about the early history of Quakerism and how it relates to faith today. There is an introduction to the historic happenings of 1652; an opportunity to climb Pendle Hill with a Meeting for Worship at the top; visits to Brigflatts, Swarthmoor and Clitheroe Meeting Houses; 'Fox's pulpit' at Firbank Fell; Quaker Tapestry at Kendall; Lancaster Castle and Jail; Sunbrick Burial ground where lie 270 Quakers including Margaret Fell; and of course, a tour of historic Swarthmoor Hall itself. It's not all walking!
£550 ensuite full board; £490 per person for two people sharing a room; £284 non-residential.
