Special issues

Journeys in the Spirit special issues are published occasionally. They offer information, resources and activities on topical themes or particular areas of interest. Special issues may be for use by a whole Meeting, whatever the ages, or for work with a particular age group.

The Special issues currently available are:

 Connecting as a Community

Connecting as a Community ia a special edition of Journeys in the Spirit that can be used to facilitate activities that link your meeting’s provision for young people aged between 12 and 18 with the wider meeting.  This material is written so that it may also be used as a set of activities to develop community in meetings.  Friends who want to develop the life of their community could find the Ways to Connect set of cards helpful; go to: http://www.quaker.org.uk/sharing-our-journeys; click on Ways to Connect

  

Journeys in the Spirit for 0 - 4 year olds

 This special edition offers things to do to help volunteers working with our youngest Friends.

 

Schools Journeys

Schools Journeys is an Outreach publication that contains:

  • Guidance on planning ideas for making links with local schools.
  • Questions to ensure that you are prepared for the session.
  • Essentially practical, Schools Journeys contains ideas and suggestions for sessions on:
  • Being a Quaker
  • An introduction to Quaker worship
  • Experiencing Quaker worship
  • Exploring Quaker testimonies
  • The Quaker meeting house as a place of worship
  • Quaker beliefs 

Abolition Journeys

This special publication, produced in 2007 commemorates the part in ending slavery played by Quakers.
