Week 3: Tuesday 28th May
‘Austerity is the best way to reduce the deficit and get the economy back on track’
In the third Economic Mythbusters session Owen Jones of The Independent and James Meadway, Senior Economicst at nef, argued that the austerity policies currently being implemented in the UK will not provide a solution to the current recession.
In the QPSW consolidation session that followed the Owen and James’ presentation, Qstaff member Symon Hill reflected on the meaning of austerity and highlighted three different approaches used by anti-austerity campaigners.
