Website restructure

Your web team, who work in Quaker Communications at Friends House, follow a rolling programme of continuous improvements to this website. View an image of our previous site's Home page [new window], Friends page [new window] or visit a history of our site to see images of the home page through the years. The latest layout was introduced on 17 May 2010.
We are grateful for the feedback which asked us to make the information on our website more straightforward for visitors to find. We have worked on this and were helped by the direction given by the Quaker Communications Central Committee who have guided our plans. The site serves many different audiences and this restructure tries to offer many different ways for visitors to find specific topics and to explore the site.
You will notice some changes on the horizontal menu under the "Quakers in Britain" banner at the top of the page. We hope that you will enjoy using the menu to browse the site and that you like the move towards using more images on the site as well as the text.
If you are looking for a particular item or subject, there is a search panel at the right hand side of every page. As well as the traditional search for any word or phrase, you will see a link in the search panel to a new Organisation A-Z page. This offers a list of pages grouped by Friends House department as well as a list of subject topics which are hand selected by staff. You can also go to our Quick links which bring together a selection of frequently used pages.
Please let us know your your comments or feedback about this restructure. We are always interested to know what you like about the site as well as your ideas for improvements.
If you have any problems finding your way around, please do not hesitate to contact the web team during working hours on 020 7663 1116 or email webteam@quaker.org.uk anytime.
