Support a Quaker Project in Your Meeting
This page covers our 2007-08 Activity Appeal. We are no longer updating this appeal information. You can see our current appeals by clicking here.
The work in Israel-Palestine and in South Asia described below is continuing. If you would like to support it, please get in touch.
We hope that your meeting will be keen to learn about and actively support one of the four projects featured in this appeal.
All these projects have grown from Quaker faith and are carried out on behalf of all Quakers in Britain. They work in focused, practical ways for a better world.
Because they channel energy and inspiration from a wide pool of Quakers, these projects offer a unique Quaker witness. Yearly Meeting and committees responsible for this work come together as crucibles of discernment to shape and support them.
This appeal aims to expand this spirit of participation. We hope that your meeting will be keen to learn about and actively support one of the following projects:
- Accompaniers in Israel-Palestine: Appeal pack
- Promoting nonviolent change in South Asia: Appeal pack
- Truth and reconciliation in Post-Yugoslav Countries: Appeal pack
- Promoting peace in Northern Uganda: Appeal pack
Because the appeal activities are suitable for all - old and young, seasoned Quakers and newcomers - they can help bring your meeting together too.
Raising the profile of Quaker work is also a great form of outreach; many people are drawn to Quakers through learning about what we do in the world.
Your next step is to agree a project which your preparative or monthly meeting would like to support, depending on the size of your meeting. It's also a good idea to appoint an informal group (ideally an all-age group). This small group can receive the activity pack and co-ordinate appeal events in your meeting.
