Welcome to the Library of the Society of Friends. It is free and open to everyone. Opening hours are Tuesday–Friday 10am–5pm.

Special closure

Please be aware of following closures:

Closed all of week commencing 3rd December. We will reopen as normal Tuesday 11 December.

Closed lunchtime 12.30pm–1.30pm Wednesday 12 December.

Christmas closure Friday 21 December 2pm - reopen as normal Wednesday 2 January 2019.

Reader registration

We require readers to register by completing a registration form, which is available to download below. Readers must provide formal proof of address (drivers licence, utility bill etc) to register. Britain Yearly Meeting members and attenders do not need to provide proof of address.

Collections

Visit our About the collections page for more information about what material the Library holds. We have an online catalogue where you can search for material in advance of your visit. For more information go to Search the catalogue. We encourage you to contact us in advance of your visit. You can pre-order material by emailing us your order on the Contact us page.

Photography

We charge £5 per day for self-service photography of library and archive material, payable in cash. You will be asked to fill in a copyright declaration form and to follow the Library's photography rules. We do not allow flash photography, tripods or handheld scanners and require that all material is handled and supported appropriately. Library staff are happy to help if you are unsure. Self-service photography is for private research only, if you require images for publication or display please contact library@quaker.org.uk
