Letting in Friends House 11 December

We are aware of publicity advertising an event, organised by Captive Support, in conjunction with Islam4UK, in Friends House on 11 December. We have not taken a booking or given permission for any such letting.

The Quakers let Friends House to a wide range of organisations. The freedom to gather is an important principle for Quakers. We have a clearly defined policy setting out standards we expect from our lettings customers who must not be in serious conflict with our values, for instance they must not advocate violence or disrespect for others. We have refused to hire rooms to organisations when we have believed that some of the stated objectives of speakers among those advertised by the customer were in serious conflict with Quaker beliefs.
