Defining an inclusive society

The Quaker Peace & Social Witness Working Group on Social Inclusion Policy produced Promoting an Inclusive Society: A 'Practical Tool Kit for Friends to help them influence social policy and to develop a definition of social inclusion to help Friends articulate Quaker goals and visions to policy-makers.   

The Tool Kit is designed for use by individuals and/or groups and includes:

  • What do we mean by an 'inclusive society'?: outline of a Quaker vision
  • Why do we care about an inclusive society? : anthology of Quaker texts with some questions and challenges for ourselves
  • Requirements of Social Policy: nine key elements by which to test whether policies promote an inclusive society
  • How to work with the legislative bodies in England, Scotland Wales and the European Union, plus ecumenical and interfaith networks
