Firm Foundations: Is a training manual for volunteers involved in children's and young people's work. This book provides a Meeting with simple do-it-yourself exercises to aid exploration of:

• What we need to communicate to children and young people about Quakerism. This can also be used to aid the adults in Meeting explore beliefs.
• What is the health, safety and legal framework in which we operate. This is a useful tool to use alongside Meeting Safety.
• How we develop equal opportunities when working with children and young people. This can affect the way the whole Meeting presents itself.
• How we ensure that each of our activities is safe as well as enjoyable for the volunteers and children and young people alike
