Young Quakers Participation Day 2018
6 October 2018, London
14-18 year olds (born between 1.9.2000 and 31.8.2004, inclusive)
"The day made me feel encouraged to be an active member of the Quaker community to which I belong, and that all contributions, whether their giver is five or fifty, are treated with equal respect and consideration."
The day is held alongside Meeting for Sufferings which decides the priorities and sets the direction of the Yearly Meeting. It will offer you the chance to consider items that are on this agenda that are of relevance to young people.
You will have your lunch with the Meeting for Sufferings representative, this is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between adults and young people from the same Area Meeting. It's also a chance to connect and find out about Meeting for Sufferings and Yearly Meeting work.
Being at the Participation Day made me feel a part of Quakerism and Britain Yearly Meeting.
Each Area Meeting can book up to two young people to attend the day, the cost of travel and, where essential, accomodation will be covered from Britain Yearly Meeting funds. The day is for young people aged 14-18 years (born between 1.9.200 and 31.8.2004, inclusive).
Area Meeting, Meeting for Sufferings representatives are asked to take responsibility for accompanying to the day, those young people who need it.
If you or someone you know is interested in attending the day, speak to your Area Meeting Clerk, to find out how to get a place. If you don't know your Meeting Clerk, contact Alex the CYP administrator and she will be able to put you in touch.
Area Meeting bookings close Sunday 23 September.
