Stop the arms fair: Candle-lit vigil

11 September 2017, London

A silent, candle-lit vigil in the evening before the arms fair opens, in solidarity with victims of the arms trade. All faiths and none welcome.

Candles in lanterns at night

Please bring candles, and jars to hold them in – it's a very windy area!

Young Quakers are particularly welcome at this event, and staff from the Children & Young People's Team of Quaker Life will be on hand.

Meet at 18:30 on Tidal Basin Road, near Royal Victoria DLR, London, E16 3BX. Vigil 19:00–20:00.

DSEI (Defence & Security Equipment International) is the world's largest arms fair. It allows arms buyers and sellers to network and make deals. It has happened every two years, in the second week in September, at ExCeL – the huge exhibition centre in London Docklands.
=========
Quaker Peace & Social Witness staff will be at this event, available on 07523 357 905. If you cannot make it to London but want to send a banner or placard for Friends to hold, please get in touch.
