Second Birmingham Conference on Inequality – practical ways forward for Quakers
Keynote speaker: Paul Parker, BYM Recording Clerk: Working for Equality – how it links with our faith
This is a conference to prepare for practical action.
So come prepared to:
- Commit yourselves to practical activities which emerge from the day.
- Plan for the medium-term, with review over the next two years.
- Participate in a workshop spread across the day: getting into the topic in detail.
- Suggest ways in which these topics can become living concerns in all our Area Meetings.
Workshops will be held on the following topics:
- Income inequality
- Inequality and health
- Inequality and housing
- Food insecurity
- Language and media
The conference is free to attend, but please book to confirm your attendance.
A vegetarian soup and sandwich lunch will be available for £6. Please indicate if you would like to book lunch when you book. (A room will be made available for those who wish to bring their own sandwiches.)
