Celebrating babies, toddlers and families in meetings
12 November 2016, Newcastle Upon Tyne
This workshop is for those involved in or supporting children's work in Quaker meetings and friends wishing to explore engaging with 0-3s and families.
The cost of the workshop is £5 per person payable on the day. All participants should bring a packed lunch.
The aims of the workshop are:
• To support and strengthen a view in the whole meeting of the youngest children, their parents and carers as central in the life of the meeting.
• To help participants reflect on the spiritual journeys of babies and toddlers, parents, carers and meetings.
• To inform participants about existing theory, practice and strategies for working with babies, toddlers, their parents and carers in meetings.
• To help participants decide on aims and objectives for work with 0-3s and their parents, linking action with practicalities.
• To enable participants to plan together, addressing practicalities and identifying next steps for work with 0-3s, their parents and carers.
By the end of the workshop participants will have:
• Identified what steps your meeting needs to take to encourage families to come to meeting and to be ready when they do.
• Considered and explored the particular needs of children aged 0 – 3, their parents and carers and identified steps for developing provision for this group.
