Building Safer Communities - Circles of Support and Accountability Expanding

22 Jul 2005

The Quaker-run pilot project of this scheme, which works with groups of trained volunteers and released sex offenders and aims to reduce re-offending, has taken on more staff to enable it to expand its existing work in the Thames Valley area and extend it into Hampshire. Work will begin shortly on creating a new independent structure, so that Quaker Peace and Social Witness can hand over responsibility for the work during 2006.

The Circles of Support and Accountability project has now been running for three years in the Thames Valley and coinciding with the news that the project is expanding into Hampshire, the new report has been published.
