In Tavistock Square in central London there is a very unusual memorial. Very few people know about this and most just walk right past. Those that do might not be entirely comfortable with its sentiment. This memorial commemorates the lives of those determined notto fight - the conscientious objectors, or Conchies as they were popularly but not affectionately known. This film investigates the lives of some of these men and asks 90 years on, were they cowards and shirkers or were they in their own way heroic for refusing to join the fight?
